My name is Emily Clark and I am a Potter from St. Pete Florida. I enjoy sharing my art and knowledge about clay. I am predominantly a wheel thrower but I do dabble with hand building from time to time. I love creating functional pieces of pottery that have unique designs and are one of a kind. Everything is handmade and made with love. I hope you enjoy my pieces just as much as I enjoy making them!
My Story
When my college career was coming to an end in 2023 I decided to take a ceramics class to satisfy my credits. Little did I know it would change my life forever. I absolutely fell in love with the art form. I had tried nearly every art medium there is prior to ceramics, painting, drawing, printmaking, crocheting, sewing, you name it, but nothing really felt quite right. That was until I touched clay. The entire process was mesmerizing to me, from start to finish I enjoyed creating. Nothing is as satisfying as getting a piece to turn out how you intended. When I was making pieces that I envisioned and they actually came to life in the way I expected, I was hooked. Ever since then I have been creating and trying to perfect my craft. I enjoy incorporating bugs into my art, such as ants, beetles, ladybugs, snails etc. Anything nature related really, I love how I can turn a ball of clay into anything I can imagine. About ten months into my ceramics journey I started to share my knowledge with others and teach beginners on the wheel. I still teach beginners, as well as seasoned potters to this day and it brings me lots of joy. I hope to continue to create and grow with this medium and share the wonders of clay with people who enjoy it just as much as I do.
